Director, Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) Institute Tokyo. After obtaining doctorate in fusion engineering from The University of Tokyo, Nagura joined The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), where he was in charge of setting a policy for startups springing out from universities. After studying in the U.S. at MIT, Nagura took jobs in management consulting and venture capital, and later participated in the launch of CIC Tokyo, one of the largest innovation centers in Japan. He is currently in charge of startup support programs and ecosystem building projects implemented by CIC. In 2022, Nagura established Startup Ecosystem Association. He is also a specially appointed professor at Institute of Science Tokyo.
